What is the cost of the camp?
The cost of the camp is $195.00 per child for the entire week, or $50.00 per day.
What if my child can only come to part of the camp?
If your child can only make it for 1, 2, or 3 days, simply choose the days you want him/her to participate and mark it on your registration sheet. You would then pay for each day at $50 per day per child. If your child will be participating in 4 days, choose the 4 days you would like him/her to participate and pay $195.00 (the price of the full week camp). This will save you $5.00.
Do I have to submit my application online?
No. You have the option to print off a form here, fill it out, and send or bring it to the church office at 5677 Freshwater Drive, Mississauga, ON L5M 7G2.
If I submit my application online, do I have to make payment on the internet?
No. Once you have submitted your application online, you have three choices for payment: Online (credit or PayPal), In person (cash or cheque), or by mail (cheque only). Please note that your child will not be officially registered until we receive payment.
I submitted an application (in the mail or on the internet) and now I would like to pay online. How do I get to the payment page?
Click here to get to the payment page. Follow the instructions to make a payment online. (Note: You can still choose one of the other payment options as well. You do not have to pay online.)
Can I pay for more than one child at a time on the internet?
No. Current capabilities only allow for one payment at a time. You will need to submit a payment for each child.
Is it safe for me to pay online?
Yes. PayPal uses the latest technology and encryption software to ensure the highest standard of safety for your important information.
Do I need to have a PayPal account in order to pay with a credit card?
No. You do not need to have an established PayPal account. You can simply enter your credit card information and submit the transaction.
Is there a benefit in using my PayPal account?
Using your PayPal account gives you the further option of being able to pay directly from your chequing or savings account (if that is how you have it set up).
Can I pay for more than one child at a time if paying by cash or cheque?
Yes. If you are paying for two or more children, you may write out the cheque or bring cash for the total amount of all children attending the camp. You do not need to write out separate cheques. Please write the names of the children in the memo line.
To whom do I write out the cheque?
Cross of Life
Where do I send or bring my payment?
Cross of Life, 5677 Freshwater Drive, Mississauga, ON L5M 7G2 (Residence)
What time can I drop my child(ren) off at Lisgar School in the morning?
The bus will arrive promptly at 8:15am each day. Your child may board at anytime between then and 8:45am. The bus will leave promptly at 9am so we can make it to our scheduled destination on time.
Does the camp provide lunch for my child?
No. Each child should bring their own (nut-free) sack lunch.
Am I able to be a chaperone?
If you are 18 years old or older with a valid background check (no older than a year), you are eligible to be a chaperone.
How do I know if I have been chosen as a chaperone?
If you answered “yes” on your registration form we will contact you when we know if more chaperones are needed. Everything depends on how many children have registered. We should know approximate numbers by mid-February.
Does chaperoning qualify my family for a discount?
Because chaperones will be providing a volunteer service, their cost is taken care of by the camp. However, children of the chaperone would be expected to pay the regular published rate(s).
What would be expected of me as a chaperone?
Chaperones will have the responsibility of taking care of a group of 5 to 8 children (depending on the ages of the children). They will be responsible for creating a safe environment by making sure the whole group is on the bus for departure and return, lead the group from area to area in a timely fashion, and take care of the general well-being of the children.
Will I receive a childcare tax receipt?
Yes. An official tax receipt will be sent out shortly after the camp to the address we have on file. If you move, please let us know so we can get it out to you in a prompt manner.
What should I do if I am running late to pick up my child?
We ask that you make every effort to be punctual in picking up your child. However, we understand that some circumstances are not under your control. If you are unable to pick up your child between 4:00 and 4:15pm, please notify us as soon as possible. We will furnish you with a phone number to call in such a case.
What size t-shirt should I request for my child?
It’s generally easier to fit into a larger shirt than one that is too small. So we recommend as a rule of thumb to request a shirt that is one size bigger than what he/she normally wears. This will accommodate any sudden growth by your child or any possible shrinkage in the wash. On the plus side, your child will be able to wear it for future years as well!
