Cross of Life Lutheran Church is putting on its ninth annual Soccer-Bible Camp this summer the week of July 6-10 for kids age 5-13. The past eight summers, we have held quality soccer camps which provided a positive experience for the hundreds of children who attended them.

Our Soccer Camp is designed to improve the soccer skills of all the kids involved, whether they are beginners or already have some experience on the soccer pitch. Our pastor loves the game, has coached it himself, and will be joined by a group of university players and coaches who will share their soccer skills with the camp participants. We will also again feature a one-day demonstration from a professional soccer player to improve the skills of the children.

Our camp is about more than soccer, though. The theme, “In Christ Alone” points out the greater message our coaches will share: The amazing love Jesus showed the whole world by bringing us love and forgiveness. He is the one thing needful in life. We have hope in Christ alone. We will be using the game of soccer to make these lessons real for the kids. Each day, the children will hear a Bible lesson about Jesus’ love.

In Christ Alone

In SOCCER, there is one goal.  There are rules to the game that determine how we reach that goal.  There is a referee that controls the game and keeps it to the rules.  You can’t just do what you want and play how you want.  It might seem loving to let players do that, but it would take any beauty, fun, and enjoyment out of the game.  It was meant to be played a certain way.

In LIFE, there is also one goal.  Living life with God.  And life with God is beautiful, enjoyable, fun and exciting.  It is filled with hope and love and joy and peace.  And there is one way to have it.  In Christ alone.  It might seem loving to just let everyone do things their own way, or make up their own rules for life, or believe whatever they want to, but that won’t get them to the goal.  And it actually will make life pretty hectic, chaotic, sad, and scary.  But when Christ is a part of your life, you have the joy of forgiveness, the meaning of knowing who you are and what your purpose is, and the hope of real life with God that lasts forever.  You have that In Christ Alone.

Our soccer camp provides the fun and natural setting to share these truths in concrete, real, fun, and enjoyable ways that will engage the attention of all the kids.  It will be something they won’t soon forget!

Besides improving your child’s soccer skills with the help of quality, caring coaching, your child will learn life lessons more important than soccer, meet friends, and make memories they’ll cherish for a lifetime!

How to apply
Register online or call 905-785-6765 for an application.  We need the kids’ sizes for shirts, as they will all receive soccer jerseys and water bottles.  The cost is $50 per child.  We trust you will find the value is more than worth it, compared to similar camps.  Make your cheques payable to “Cross of Life.” Shin guards are mandatory but soccer cleats are optional.

On Friday, July 10, the camp will close with a BBQ for all parents and kids.  It is part of the program and included in registration fee. Tell us how many of you can come!

Our Church
Cross of Life serves the spiritual needs of our community by sharing the good news about Jesus and helping people get connected with Him.  We hold Bible Camps 4 Kids and Soccer Camps to serve that purpose and serve our community.  We meet every Sunday at Lisgar School for Sunday School at 9:30 AM and Worship at 10:30 AM.  Check out our ministry at www.crossoflife.net.
