Cross of Life is for kids! It has opportunities for children of all ages to learn about Jesus in fun and creative ways, and also express their new and growing faith with projects and service.

It is so important for children to get the chance to learn about God and his Word. One of our real specialties at Cross of Life is giving kids this important opportunity in many ways and formats. We have a regular Sunday School, called "Kids 4 Christ," quarterly "Bible Camps 4 Kids," a young youth group called "Messengers 4 Christ," and of course, our popular "Soccer Bible Camp" each summer. Every Sunday, there is a Message 4 Kids from the pastor in our worship service, and a fully functioning nursery to let the kids spend the rest of the service on their own turf while their parents can listen to the big kid's message. Do your children know about God yet? Isn't it time they do? Here are some of the many things we offer to help you with that responsibility:

Many of the children in our congregation have developed friendships that continue during the week. They often get together at each other's homes to play and hang out. Every Sunday morning, they have a blast with each other before and after services. They often sit together in the front row and compare notes on pastor's sermons. And they often are a large part of many of our "family-friendly" congregational fellowship outings. The youth group, Messengers 4 Christ, goes on a special outing once a month, which provides for great interaction time for the kids.

There are also many opportunities for children to serve in our congregation. Currently, they help out in the setting up and taking down of our worship place. They are responsible for putting the worship sign together each week, and some even run the MIDI music and Powerpoint slides during the worship service. We have a children's choir and many young people have sung solos and played instruments. Our youth group does a service project each month, and many help with the younger kids at our Bible camps as well. There are plenty of opportunities for your children to get involved in something meaningful.

We want parents to be able to get as much as possible out of our worship services. An hour long service is sometimes hard for children to sit through. But we also love having children in the worship service, and it is great for them to get the chance to experience worship. So we combine both worlds. We encourage all the children to participate in the first twenty minutes of the worship service. They get a taste of all the different elements of the service, and conclude with a message tailored right to them. Following that, the children 6 and under are welcome to spend the rest of the service in our staffed nursery, so that the parents can comfortably listen to and benefit from the rest of the adult service. But the children are still welcome if the parents want to keep them in!
